Voice chat with your microphone

Allow the microphone once and talk in the room. It works in the browser on phone and desktop.

Allow the microphone

When the chat asks for microphone access, tap Allow. If you blocked it by mistake, tap the lock icon next to the address bar, open Site settings, and set Microphone to Allow.

Best results

Use headphones to avoid echo, keep your browser updated, and use HTTPS. Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox are supported.

How voice chat works in the browser

Modern browsers can use your microphone only after you give permission. The Holland Chat page lets the embedded chat request microphone access, so you only tap Allow once. After that, you can speak in rooms and calls that support voice.

Fix microphone problems quickly

If the mic does not work, check these in order: tap the lock icon in the address bar and set Microphone to Allow; check that your device is not muted or in another app; select the right input in browser settings; reload the page. On iPhone use Safari and check Settings, Safari, Microphone.

Voice chat tips for clear audio

Use headphones to stop echo, sit in a quiet room, and keep the mic a hand's width from your mouth. Close other tabs that use audio. A stable Wi-Fi connection matters more than a fast one.

Voice chat etiquette

Mute when you are not speaking, do not record others without asking, and keep language respectful. Voice rooms follow the same rules as text rooms. See the online chat page for the basics.
